About Our Tree Work in Tweed Heads, NSW

Who we are

A tree service that comes to the tree

This is a tree service and arborist business based at Tweed Heads, on the border between New South Wales and Queensland. There is no shopfront to visit, because every job is at the tree, and the work travels.

The range is wide on purpose. Trimming and pruning keep a sound tree safe and in shape. Removal and limb removal deal with the ones that cannot stay. Stump grinding and root removal clear what is left, and chipping and mulching turn the branches into something useful for the garden.

Bigger jobs call for bigger methods. Land clearing uses mechanical equipment and mulchers on acreage and building blocks, and crane-assisted removal lifts the sections out of trees that are large, dangerous or too hard to reach any other way. Commercial and strata work follows the same steps around car parks and entrances.

The patch runs from Tweed Heads and the Tweed Coast through Murwillumbah and the Tweed Valley to the Gold Coast suburbs of Coolangatta, Currumbin and Palm Beach.

How we work

Four things we will not trade away

01

We look at the whole site before the first cut

A tree is judged by what is under it and around it, not only by its size. Roofs, fences, pools, garden beds and wires decide the method, so those get looked at first.

02

Pruning comes first when the tree can take it

Plenty of trees only need weight taken off or a branch shortened. When a tree is sound enough to stay, we say so, and when it is not, we say that too.

03

A tree on a wire is a hazard before it is a job

Stay well back and keep everyone else away. Nobody should touch the tree or anything it is touching, and the first step is making sure nobody goes near it.

04

You decide what happens to the mulch

Branches are chipped on site and you can keep the mulch for the garden or have it taken away. Stump chips are handled the same way.

How a job runs

First call to the last rake

This is the order the work happens in. Ask about any part of it when you call.

The call

Where, how tall, what is near

Describe the tree in your own words: which side of the house, about how tall, what it is close to and whether it has split or is leaning. A photo from a safe distance is enough to start with.

Looking at the tree

Access, drop zone, wires

The tree is checked together with the ground around it. Where the sections can land, whether a truck reaches the back yard, what is overhead and what is underneath all decide whether the tree is climbed, lowered on ropes or lifted out.

The cutting

Climbed, lowered or lifted

A climber works the tree from the inside and the ground crew keeps the drop zone clear. Sections are lowered on ropes, and where nothing else will work a crane holds each one while the cut is made.

The clean up

Chips, timber and stumps

Branches go through the chipper on site and the mulch stays or goes, as you choose. A stump can be ground below ground level so the spot is ready for lawn, paving or planting.
